Planning for Learning in Kindergarten

Planning for learning in kindergarten requires consideration of the physical environment, children’s developmental progressions, and knowledge of the program expectations. Situating learning in the broader contexts of social-emotional and cognitive development, program expectations, and the Four Frames of learning requires educators be thoughtful and intentional in designing learning spaces, resources and experiences. In order to support programming for learning and long range planning, the following document has been developed which addresses key concepts, including a collaborative template for long range planning from the Four Frames perspective, as well as a moveable classroom layout for designing learning areas.
